Second OIB Flight Scheduled

The second OIB flight was originally scheduled for Saturday October 17, but has been rescheduled for Sunday October 18.

Due to a poor forecast for the areas of interest in Antarctica, the second science flight was rescheduled. This flight is now scheduled for Sunday October 18th.

The schedule for science flight #2 is currently (all times are local):

0700 Power On/Access

0730 Pre-flight Brief

0830 Doors Close

0900 Take Off

**11 hour flight to survey sea ice in the Weddell Sea**

2000 Land

2030 or ASAP Post-flight Brief

The aircraft was closed early on Saturday due to the high winds. Currently the winds are blowing at >50 mph and causing problems for personnel walking to and from the aircraft.
